U.S.A. Salvage SAMAS Power Armor PA-04S Mark 02

The U.S.A. Salvage SAMAS Power Armor PA-04S Mark 02 was designed for Salvage/Rescue missions and whole range of Logistical Support roles. It can also serve as a front line combat unit but it also excels at sabotage missions. It is primarily armed with a Plasma Ejector made for large scale percision cutting that is for removing Robot Limbs or cutting through MDC/SDC barriers with out disturbing the local area around the area being cut, however this is one load out of many possible primary weapons load outs. Other main weapons may be used as the pilot sees fit. There are 4 universal power ports on this model for the addition of different systems or just to recharge E-Clips in the field. One of the innovations was to have a pop out wing extension for the SAMAS to reach even greater altitudes, and are retracted back in to the wing when not needed or in close and rugged terrain or an urban environment where a more compact unit needs to maneuver. Another one was the use of Multivector Thrust technology allow the SAMAS to be much more manuverable than other fixed thrust SAMAS's. Also a minor modifcation to the lower leg fins places them behind the legs and fold and slide out to the side when in flight. Yet do not interfere with the dismountable Variable Missile Launchers.

** Head Laser (Torch and Wand built into head) - 100

*** Main Body - 370 (Torch and Wand built into chest)

* A single asterisk indicates a small and difficult target to strike, requiring the attacker to make a "called shot", but even then the attacker is -4 to

* * Destroying the head of the power armor will eliminate all forms of optical enhancement and sensory systems. The pilot must then rely on his own human vision and senses. No power armor combat bonuses to strike, parry, and dodge!
The head is a small and difficult target to hit, shielded by ex-haust tubes and a weapon drum. Thus it can only be hit when a character makes a "called shot" and even then the attacker is -3 to strike.

*** Depleting the M.D.C. of the main body will shut the ar-mor down completely, making it useless. Note: Destroying a wing will make flight impossible. However, even with no wings the SAMAS can make jet powered leaps and hover stationary above the ground.

Speed

Running: 100 mph ( 161 km) maximum with Multi-Vector Thrust assitance, 70 mph (112.7 km) for no asstistance. Note that the act of running does tire out its operator, but at 10% of the normal fatigue rate, thanks to the robot exoskeleton.

Leaping: The powerful robot legs can leap up to 15 feet (4.6 m) high or across unassisted by the thrusters.
A jet thruster assisted leap can propel the unit up to 100 feet (30.5 m) high and 200 feet (61 m) across without actually attain-ing flight.

Flying: The rocket propulsion system enables the SAMAS to hover stationary up to 1000 feet (305 m) or fly. Maximum flying speed is about 400 mph (644 km), but cruising speed is considered to be 200 mph (322 km). Maximum altitude has been suggested to be limited to about 4000 feet (1220 m), but use in the field has proven that the SAMAS can easily attain maintain an altitude of 6000 feet (1829 m; a little over mile/1.6 km). Higher than this, high winds and rough weather make flight both erratic and dangerous. The SAMAS is just to small and light, it was designed to be a low altitude power armor suit that could hug the ground and slip under enemy which it does admirably. Optimal altitude range is ground level to about 4000 feet (1220 m) with the wing extensions not deployed. With the internal wing extensions deployed a maximum altitude of 12,000 feet (3658 m) can be attained and safely maintained.

Flying Range: An efficient jet propulsion system leaves out the worry of over heating the of the original SAMAS propulsion systems. This Jet Rocket propulsion system can fly at for 24 hours nonstop and at full speed with out fear of over heating. A quick cooling systems makes the engines usable after only 10 minutes of being shut down. While flying at cruising speed the engines do not need to be shut down at all, it only takes 1 hour out of 24 at cruising speed to cool the engines down is enough to keep the engines from over heating. With constant rest stops, usually due to pilot fatigue, the engines there is no worry of the engines at all. Without wings this SAMAS can fly at 200 mph (322 km) at an atiltude of 1000 feet (305 m) on the Multivector Thrust System alone.

Underwater Capabilities: Swimming: The SAMAS can swim using the same types of paddling leg and arm movements as human at a maximum speed of roughly five mph (8.1 km). Can also walk along the bottom of the sea at about 25% normal running speed. Using the jet thrusters, the SAMAS travel on the surface of the water at 70 mph (112.7 km), underwater at 60 mph (96 km), or fly above the water's surface at normal speeds.

Maximum Ocean Depth: 3280 feet (1000 m).

Statistical Data

The JA-12 or TX-41 requires no separate power pack or E-Clip or canister, because it hooks directly to the armor's nuclear power supply, but one is carried on it as a back up should the power hook up disabled. The NG-E15 Pulse Plasma Ejector is mounted under the JA-12 or TX-41 and its self can be dismounted and used as an independent weapon. The Plasma Ejector has been modified for percsion cutting and control for large and small scale cutting jobs, and can be calibrated and has auto calibration to do the safest and most percision cutting possible. But the system can be disegaged to do the quickest or most damaging cutting possile if needed. And the Plasma Ejector can also function as a normal weapon.

4. Forearm Energy/Vibro-Blade (1): This new blade weapon allows the SAMAS to select between 2 types of blade settings depending on needs. The charged particle setting works by having a charged particle field between the strong Engery Field of the Vibro-Blade and a weaker magnetic field containing the charged particle engergy field. The weaker field gives so the energy of the charged particle field can cut and do damage while the inner Vibro-Blade is solid and intact to act as a solid core that can not be damage. Should an opponent be impervious to energy then only the Vibro-Blade Damage is used.
